Dawyck Botanic Garden

I have never been down to Dawyck before.

It is more an arboretum than garden and there are some wonderful trees.
Colourful bark
Contrasting colours
Surprising colours (this is a rose) ............ and this is a rhododendron

Texture is another thing I like.
Hostas
Lichen
Leaf stems

We all had a picnic and the Cygnet had great fun in the long grass

I got a nice smile from the lady with the red brolly who was watching the stream falling down the hill.

On the way home we stopped for ice-cream in Peebles .............. expensive but really good and needed after the climbing up and down the hills in the heat.

And while we were out - Mum and Dad painted the kids bedrooms.
