Departure Day

A better night for me (Chris) meant the consultant was much happier with progress on his morning round despite my face still looking quite puffy. The verdict was, I could go home today. My antibiotic cocktail was beating the infection so I then just needed to be switched from intravenous to oral.

With the drain from my gum removed, by early evening Annie was able to bring me home. Antibiotics for the next 5 days as well as lots of swilling my mouth out after every meal. Fingers crossed I can stay infection free.

One last photo from the West Wing at the John Radcliffe hospital Oxford. The staff have been universally excellent, it’s down to me now to fully recover.
