Parc de La Prehistoire

Today we drove down the Parc de La Prehistoire. As you arrive at the Parc there are two ways to the picnics area, one of which is passing though the water fall behind! Interesting experience! What you can't see are the Pyrenees behind with snow on them! Whilst we basked in 40 degrees!

The park is about prehistory, and we went on the tour in the Grand Atelier which was a display of cave paintings and carvings. The tour was amazing and really made me think, why did man suddenly want to paint? It was a truly inspiring tour. Afterwards we walked around the park, stopping off at an archilogical dig (staged for the park) where even through it was in French we got the general idea of what was going on. We then walked around the encampment, followed by some cave paintings of our own!!! We finished off by resting our very tired feet in a very cool stream. Fantastic. On our way home we stopped off at Foix and had a very nice meal.
