So majestic (but guess what it is!)

I took a little detour when I was nearly home tonight to specifically take this.

It's actually a water pumping station and there are quite a few of them of similiar design in the Lichfield area.

This one is at a wee hamlet called Little Hay and I just marvel at how the fairly grand architecture completely belies it's function.

Quite lovely, and a nice throwback (built 1929) to when things weren't all just an amalgam of concrete blocks!!
