We never tire of visiting Aberlady nature reserve at any time of year and in summer it is especially attractive with numerous wild flowers and usually butterflies but there were hardly any today,  In winter and spring there are many seabirds on the shoreline with beautiful bird song in spring,  Today there were a few eider ducks resting on the nearest rocks but no longer making their cooing sounds and most of the summer visitors no longer need to sing to attract a mate or establish their territory.  It was very peaceful listening to the waves lapping on the rocks and watching the hues of the currents on the calm sea. There were many contrails in the sky and we watched four RAF Typhoons pass high up and continue to fly north west before turning over Ardnamurchan then flying towards Northern Ireland before we lost the internet so could not follow them on the appIt was a good day with lots of sunshine and a taste of summer,
