Living On The Edge

It has actually been quite nice day. WHOOPEE!

After Squirrel left for school we went to the shops as we needed some fruit.
I also needed a new tool for cleaning the joints between the slabs on the patio (the tool fairy has walked off with mine).
I am glad to report that the new one works.

I spent a few minutes taking pictures of a couple of the orchids and the foxgloves next to the pond. Then I turned my attention to the pond itself.
The pond skaters are young, small and too skittish to get any pictures - but I did get a couple of the fly (who seemed as interested in me as I was in it).  I was quite surprised at how well the submerged plant came out.

I started making a vase on the lathe while my next door neighbour fought his way through my jungle to reach the bit of his fence which separates our gardens so he could paint it.
