Morning ablutions

       Excellent walking weather (I could 'see' my breath in cold spots) and the birds were happy but hidden for the most part (nesting). Merlin  heard the usual suspects but I have yet to see the blue grosbeak it occasionally reports. The usual birds that I'm beginning to recognise by song are always present and I do see them: western meadowlark, common yellowthroat, spotted towhee, lesser goldfinch, American robin, redwing blackbird, yellow breasted chat, yellow warbler; and some others are supect:
