Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2024 Tuesday — Celebrate Sort of!

We took the pups for a walk at Tidelands Park right next to the Morro Bay harbor; as we walked we discussed our options for dinner. Several places offer a few low sodium items on their menu. I thought a restaurant hamburger with a salad, not fries sounded real good. Mr. Fun wanted to go see our favorite waitress Dee. She works at our favorite local Italian restaurant. Lately we've been dining there every couple weeks because they have a delicious halibut dish on their menu. But what I discovered tonight, and wasn't surprised by my discovery, hamburgers are not on their menu. So I thought I'd just order a salad and then tiramisu for dessert. I could tell Mr. Fun thought I ought to have a meal. So I ordered meat sauce over capellini noodles. DiStascio's meat sauce is delicious. The fun item on their menu is a split of champagne for five bucks. I used to hate champagne. However, I accompanied Mr. Fun to dozens if not hundreds of weddings where I was always offered a glass of champagne at the reception. I gradually acquired a taste for bubbly, especially if it is Prosecco rather than brut. We are celebrating our last dinner on the Central Coast for several days.

We are headed to SoCal in the morning. We neither one are excited about going south; the temperature will be much warmer than we’re used to and traffic will be much heavier. So we’re celebrating being HERE tonight.

Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
