Erosion
This morning we called in at Hardraw Scaur, an attractive single clear-drop waterfall set in a small gorge near Hawes. The last time I visited this waterfall was at Eastertime in 1969 - over 55 years ago. When we got back home I couldn't resist comparing the picture I took 55 years ago (extra) with those of today. It is no longer permitted to walk behind the fall but the most significant change to the fall is that it has moved to the right and now emerges from a narrow cleft as opposed to a broad level shelf. The other significant change is that admission is now £4 compared to 3d in 1969.
