Saved little girl

At the beach today
(the beach in the blip has nothing to do with the happenings)

A young mother with 4 children, all under pre-school aged - youngest still in carries.
Three of the oldest kids were in the water for half an hour playing with a small swim bed and came then from the water to the blanket one after one. The mother had a long call, speaking all the time to the mobile, mind in the call, eyes in the kids. she was chewing a gum, as well did two of the oldest children. The young mother did not take any contact to the children for a long time.

The phone call ended.

The three kids went back to the water, swimming and diving. The young mother was standing on the beach carrying the baby. The eldest kid yelled to her mum, 'Look, mum how I dive!' And she dived a long dive, almost too long, as she had to gasp breath hard after that. Chewing gum fortunately still in her mouth.

Nerves of an older mother did not last longer.

She walked near to the younger one and said to her: 'I really have to give you an advice of an older mother now, even if you maybe do not like that: your daughter is diving there with a chewing gum in her mouth. Has been for a long time already. If she swallows it to her windpipe, and as she is there in quite a deep water and you are here with the baby, you will blame yourself so much...'
The younger mother said in finnish niin, which could be translated just that she wanted to tell, that she registered the speach.
The older mother left more far away from the situation.
The younger mother begin to try to call the children from the water.

I was the older mother.

Another woman of my aged had been watching the situation too. Worried. But did not say anything to the young mother. We middle-aged mums talked about the carefree mother in the changing room. This another older mum thanked me.

Finns mostly nowadays do not interfere as much as few decades eatlier.

Beautiful night.

The blip is from the beach of Eliander, a shore of Näsijärvi. Sailing boats, motorboats, green grass, blue sky and lake, sun bathers and swimmers in the evening sun ... Warm night, at 21.30 still 25c. Lovely.
