Together
As we were in north London and our journey home meant travelling through Walthamstow, we took advantage of the location and stopped off at God's Own Junkyard, a museum of neon signs. It was a bright and sunny morning, but the museum is in an old, suitably dark warehouse-like building to allow the neon to shine. I've always wanted to visit and, despite the bright daylight outside, the multi-coloured lights were fantastic. The contrast between the signs for wedding chapels and those gentlemen's establishments of old Soho was beautiful. I always need to figure out what to do with the photos I take at a place like this. Sharing one or two on social media is OK, but I don't want to bombard my few followers. For once, I put them on my website.
Our afternoon was relatively quiet. I watched many videos about electric cars and how the perception of a lack of charging options is misguided. I have no idea why they fascinate me, as I have no intention of buying a car.
In the evening, the first episode of the new series of Doctor Who. I don't know the commercial arrangements now that the BBC and Disney co-produce it, but two things were observable: this is not, and should not, be labelled a series one, and the episode spent too long explaining the show. A new companion is always a time that The Doctor has to explain The TARDIS, the time-travel, Gallifrey and the two hearts. This felt too crow-barred in. Nonetheless, it won't put us off watching upcoming episodes.
