The Bass Rock
I arrived at H and I’s yesterday afternoon. I had forgotten how scenic the journey through the Southern Uplands is.
This morning we travelled north east to North Berwick and the Scottish Seabird Centre, a wonderful place, to take a trip out into the Firth of Forth. We travelled first around Craigleith island with its 10,000 puffins and then around the Bass Rock with its 150,000 gannets. Lots of other seabirds too, and just spectacular. Our guide on the boat was incredibly knowledgeable about the islands, the wildlife, and the history of the place. And a very Scottish perspective - James’ VI and VII were mentioned.
I took lots of photos, some temporary extras added.
