Cup of Gold

Californian Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) has turned up at random in our back garden this year, continuing a tradition of species which 'just appear', either wind-sown or brought in by birds.

Mrs Catspaw thinks it makes an interesting oriental colour combination with the pink of the Common Fumitory (Fumaria officinalis - another member of the Papaveraceae, the Poppy family) that has appeared in the same bed.
