On the train

Thanks to all who left lovely comments about Jack's photography yesterday - much appreciated and I am indeed a proud mum. A treat today - a day trip to Birmingham, for lunch and a meander with Jon, an old friend from university days. We have known each other for over 50 years. He lives near Oxford, so Birmingham works out well for us both. We'd intended to fit in a walk and a trip to a gallery. In fact, we settled into Bistrot Pierre near the canal basin and had a good catch-up for several hours instead, over a meal and a couple of glasses of wine.
On the way from Sheffield, this fellow-passenger's laptop had me intrigued; in the end I decided (or imagined) that he'd broken his own and borrowed this one from his teenage son :-)
