Come and have a go
Alarm gets us up at 3am. Everything goes smoothly on the flight and we arrive around 10:30. We’d been told at the last minute that we wouldn’t be able to get into the holiday house till 5 o’clock – but we didn’t think it'd be a problem.
As we’re sitting outside having a pizza on the Agde seafront, heavy rain starts falling. The kind that makes people say “this can’t last long”. Oh, but it could. After the pizza we run through the downpour to a beach bar where streams of water are coming through the ceiling.
The only wet-weather entertainment we can find is the Ephebe museum, full of amphorae and cannons – and a statue of Eros that seems like he wants a fight. Very much enjoy its dryness though.
We’re mightily impressed by the house, and the lads waste no time getting in the pool. It’s good to be here.
