Anne's Daily Encounters

Neighbours of 90

Got to Germany to see friend Fiffy and we were invited by his neighbours of 90 years of age for a high tea. The time spend together was wonderful! I admired them being so fit and interested in the news of the world at that age of 90 and 91 years. We had dear conversations and a most special time with them. We admired their hospitality and wit especially because minutes before we arrived they'd learned that their sister-in-law had suddenly passed away; she'd sat next to her man in the car as they went for a drive and after they'd arrived at their destiny, she didn't wake up, didn't react... Her husband (brother to Fiffy's neighbour)  then touched her and felt she's cold... So he'd lost his wife as she slept next to him while he's driving and he'd not noticed?!
A beautiful death for the old lady, but a shock for her man. And the couple what had invited us told us that we were welcome no matter the news they'd just learned. "We can't change facts and meeting you is extra welcome to us now".
