Washout

Not the whole day. I got up early to meet S (new to running) for a Parkrun in Saltaire. He's already hooked and feeling so much better for it. It was my first this year. The rain held off and I was pretty much bang on my predicted time, picking up 23.36. I hope I can improve on that throughout the rest of the year, if body and circumstances play along.

The Ilkley Food and Drink festival is on in Ilkley this weekend. As a family, we gathered there at lunchtime to hear Orla sing with her choir. It was cold and drizzly. We comprised the majority of the audience. It didn't help that all the deckchairs were wet. It was a rather sorry scene. One felt like this could only happen in England.

We left to get to the start of the cricket, expecting to be an on and off day, when the heavens opened and we were put out of our misery. It didn't stop raining all afternoon. Unfortunately for Ben Rhydding, the top two teams in our league, playing their games 30 odd miles to the north, both managed to play and win.

Bit of a random shot from a short walk because I didn't take my camera with me this morning on the parkrun. I was taking it seriously!
