Looking back

Day 3; 530 miles from Oxfordshire

A documentary picture a documentary blip. A day covering a lot of miles and some logistics to assemble three of us on Scotland's north west coast, with little time for photography or contemplation. We are on a raised beach, facing a persistent breeze off the sea, bringing in moisture drenched air, a sea fret and intermitent drifting sheets of light rain. Combined with my limited experience as a camper, it is a a recipe to ensure that most things will be damp by morning

My bed for the night is the damp camp bed behind the damp door flap, in a damp sleeping bag. Our transport is the red van in the background - so distinct from all the white ones - built while we were all at school, and inherited by one of us, who took childhood holidays in it, including from London to this part of Scotland. They say nostalgia isn't what it used to be, but it will carry him through the coming week, with two of us riding on the coat tails

I'll stop there, because I need to trace the source of that dripping  sound...
