Johnston Road Pond

Well, Granny’s craft room is looking decidedly better than it did last night, although it’s not perfect yet. It is definitely tidy enough though now to be making me yearn to get back in there and be a bit more creative.

First, I need to make lots more stock of cards for the Atrium, but after that I’m itching to do some sewing – and I’ve already started some knitting. It’s only another doll’s cardigan, but I wanted to start using up some yarn that I had unravelled from a jumper which I never completed, and I thought this would be an ideal way to do it. It’s a small enough project to be able to pick it up and knit for short spells so I don’t exacerbate the arthritis in my hands.

I walked up to the Atrium this afternoon to deliver the photo cards I blipped yesterday, and I took my camera along for the walk. (Smithers had already walked to the barber’s this morning and declined to accompany me because he was reading his book on his iPad.) It was wonderful to be out in the sunshine (and also wonderful to have dried two loads of washing outside today).

This is a view of the pond at the top of Johnston Road, but it’s becoming choked with vegetation at the margins, leaving less water for the ducks to swim in and obscuring the view from the bench.
