Back to the Market for shopping and then onto the Machu Picchu Museum for a bit of largely unnecessary historical  follow-up –though the Museum is in a lovely colonial building which is worth a visit in itself and it has a couple of pretty cool mummies. Afterwards we headed back through the square to a nice looking café we’d noticed from a cab window the night before and were held up by a huge crowd obviously out to watch the Saints go marching home. We watched the complex too-ing and fro-ing of effigies for a while, narrowly avoiding being mown down by this particular fellow in the process and then extricated ourselves in search of a cortado…
