The Pepperpot, Godalming

Goodbye Godalming and Hello again Newcastle.

We are back home after visiting our son and daughter-in-law.  We had a lovely time and so good to see them and their little dachshund Pepsi.

We left Godalming this morning on the 9.40 train and arrived home at 3.30.

Before I left I took this photo of the Pepperpot Clock Tower which is situated in Godalming's Main Street.  It was build in 1814 and replaced an earlier timber building which was situated on the same site.  The old building was used as a market hall and also a Town Hall.  The new building cost £865 and most of this was raised through public donations.

Currently the top floor is  a meeting room and the lower part is still used as a small market place.
