A DAY OF FIRSTS

It started off as a beautiful sunny day, although there are a few dark clouds about now, but earlier I sat with Mr. HCB in the garden to have a cup of coffee.  We saw a greater spotted woodpecker on the fence and listened to the birds in the trees singing away - I daresay they are pleased to see the sun too.

We then had a wander around the garden together and saw our first raspberries, the first dahlia, grown from seed by Mr. HCB, our first crocus rose, all backed by our first meadow with the ox-eye daisies.  I then did a bit of deadheading, another first this year, but 20 minutes was enough and I am now indoors resting.
