Longyearbyen valley

Day 1 Early start this morning to get into the airport for 6am to get the flight to Longyearbyen. Managed to get through and on the flight with no issues, landing was a bit like London city where its slammed into the tarmac and then the full reverse thrusters to stop it in time. Saw our first polar bear on the luggage carousel when we went to get our bags. Bus into town was easy to sort out and found the hotel which was very nice but quirky. Headed out to have a look around the shops and found a nice café for some really nice soup and met J & A there. Bought a new jumper, that was out of stock on the website which was nice. Headed out to a nice restaurant for dinner and had reindeer steak. I went out after we got back to take picture of the stream leading down the valley and found out that I’d left my filter holder at home along with my slippers. Finished my book before trying to get some sleep in the permanent daylight up here.
