Gone fishing

As I walked along Seven Mile Beach this afternoon a White-bellied Sea Eagle was swooping and hovering just above the water. A knowledgeable local resident explained that the big waves we are experiencing have caused fish to come close to the surface, which the eagle is optimistically pursuing. It had no success while I was watching.

The extra was taken just a few seconds before the main, as the bird began its descent.
