Another hectic day

Two shots for the price of one today, I couldnt decide between them. Will and my mum spent a happy time podding peas this afternoon and the view from our garden. This really is a very lovely place.

And there is an Aga. I have never used one before and spent the first two days giving it a wide birth, wondering why people keep an oven permanently on and ready to go. But now I am loving it and keep finding new things to cook in and on it. As it is obviously pie type of weather, we will have chicken pie tonight. I dont think I could have one though, I would feel untold pressure to get the value from it and would have to always have something cooking in it.

Clare left today to go and do important lawyerly business in Glasgow tomorrow. We struggled into Ventnor for a spot of shopping, coffee and cake. I bought a very pretty glass bowl set, they still have proper charity shops here it seems - all for £3. I shall show it to you another day when it is dark and rainy - cant really imagine that type of day right now. Both the children got their heart's desire, Will got a sling shot that he has wanted for ages, you can see it in the picture here - he is under triple warning of "no people, no stones". And Daisy got a Titanic mug, so we are all happy.
