Marsh Harrier

I arrived at the caravan early afternoon, and after a cuppa decided to head to Leighton Moss. The wind was blowing hard through the reeds, and there was no bird song at all. Those birds in flight were not having the easiest of times.

The chap sitting near me in the hide chatted and told me he was up from the Midlands for a week, and was coming to the reserve every day. That’s dedication. He had a very good camera and a huge lens, his focus was on getting the best shots he could of marsh harriers and bitterns. This image of a male marsh harrier would not make the cut in his collection, but I like it and it is after all representative of my afternoon.
