Pilgrimage of the Heart

At least there was a bit of sunshine before the rain set in today.

I went to the lake for a litter pick and swim this morning.
I was helped by young Guy with the dinosaur top and who was with his sister and parents down there paddle boarding. Guy said he could roar louder than a dinosaur but didn’t want to scare me (possibly some dinosaur conditioning going on). He was very keen to find bits to add to my litter bag.
Then I heard my name being called and turned to see an old work colleague and her sister who were just about to head off on their canoes.
As I was heading back to the car the people parked in front were heading off and kindly left their dog shit bag …presumably thinking I’d pick it up.
Young Guy had told me that dinosaurs can do anything. I had wondered if they might intervene and do what I had in mind but I think Guy might not have caught up with the latter bit of the dinosaur story.

Then it was back up to Carlisle to sort my phone out.
Whilst I was waiting I went to Waterstones and got The Great Storm Whale by Benji Davies and Fuzzy Felt … and sat and ate a sandwich in the cathedral precinct in a dazed phone state. I don’t often buy sandwiches but this one was a bit ‘sloppy’. I suddenly realised I’d forgotten all about sloppy sandwiches and The Eternal Quest… the Pilgrimage of the Heart to find a plain non-sloppy sandwich for P. P couldn’t abide a sloppy sandwich and I was suddenly broadsided by a flood of memories of the perpetual searching for a plain sandwich.

It all took a long time but I’m now still in a bit of shock having forked out for a new reconditioned phone. It’s all felt a bit dodgy but it’s done now. I just feel completely out of my depth with this stuff.
