Eristalis abusiva

Not the pleasantest of scientific names - but I'm pretty sure I've identified this Male Hoverfly / Drone Fly correctly, based on my perception that (quite unusually for male Hoverflies) the eyes on this specimen don't actually meet (identification point 3, slide 7 in this helpful guide).

It seemed when we saw it to be just basking in the sun on our back garden fence.
