Lunch break...

We are en route, driving in glorious sunshine ever southwards. We stopped off for lunch near Cáceres where there are always storks to be seen. We saw numerous nests with juvenile storks, now about 2 months old, their gangly legs and beaks turning red, bouncing up and down full of energy, stretching and excercising their wings, but not quite yet ready to fly and leave the nest. The parent storks are still feeding these beautiful young ones who sit eagerly watching out for their return.

- e1 one parent and two youngsters waiting for the other parent to bring in the lunch.

- e2  I believe this is a young golden eagle, have not been able to verify that, but other blippers will know if this is incorrect. It had just circled and landed on an electricty pole, watching the storks with curiosity.

Hope you've all had a good weekend.
