Swollen-thighed Beetle

Well, the Lord Of The Rings film we went to last night was great…although not being a ‘movie buff’, I couldn’t tell you which bits had been added to the original release to make the extended version.

Anyway - the whole program (including ads and trailers) ran to over 4 hours and I am pleased to report that I stayed awake for the whole lot and  I didn’t need a ‘comfort break’ :-)

I spotted this ‘swollen-thighed’ (or ‘thick-legged’) beetle on some hogweed flowers this morning..out for my walk in sunshine for a change. There were actually quite a lot of them about..but this was the best shot!

I had some nice cards and presents for Father’s Day…collected them from children/granddaughter last night at the cinema! A new airbrush, a plastic model kit and a mini Swiss Army knife to replace the one I lost along with my keys last month!!
