Sticking to the shade

We continue are early ish morning exertions. As we near the longest day the huge North African high pressure system is flexing its formidable muscle. Forecast temperatures here at 500m alt are up to 37C by the end of the week. Florence will be a torrid cauldron.

The long term forecast for July and August is 1-2C above the norm and 20-30% less precipitation. Much as have the last summers been.

It doesn’t really need confirming but southern Europe’s climate seems now irreversibly changed as very hot, high humidity North African weather systems have displaced the cooler/wetter circulation from the Azores high pressure system.
