That's the way to do it
The day passed in a slightly better frame of mind than yesterday. Much of the afternoon was spent watching the Trooping of the Colour for the King's official birthday - quick supermarket run and a couple of moving in tasks were accomplished. Abu came and fixed the broken kitchen cupboard hinge - at last - making the cupboard useable with which "moving in" to the kitchen is now complete. Now I just have to remember where everything is :)
I know that the best way to cure melancholy is to go out and join the world, so around 6pm Rufus and I went to the sea front where there was the most delightful warm wind. For the next three hours we strolled, played (he can be off lead here), talked to other promenaders, enjoyed a leisurely beer and a salad at Pasa for me and a bowl of water and doggy biscuit for him, and then I sat reading my book in the evening sunshine with a second beer, while Rufus wandered about meeting and greeting folk followed by more walking and talking before finally getting home just after 9pm. That's the way to do it.
