Boundary Dwellers

Life in public

Travelling on buses and in this case trams can add richly to the day's experiences if you take the chance.

Someone sat down beside me in a damp flurry and when I looked up from my book it was to see the edge of a rain-soaked coat and these allium flowers, beautiful against the blue of the tram flooring.

I admired them, and the other richly coloured flowers in the bunch. The lady (no wifie, she) was on her way to freshen the flowers at the National Trust's Georgian House in Charlotte Sq with material from her garden.

Apparently, all the volunteer florists are in their 70s, which worries them (the florists) greatly.
