Zebras on Zinnias

The Zebra Longwing butterflies are everywhere, at least in our yard. Zebra Longwings, Heliconius charithonia, aka Zebra Heliconian...are Florida's State Butterfly. The Zebra Longwings are busy laying their tiny yellow eggs on the underside of several species of the Passion Vine, including our native Passiflora suberosa, which is popping up everywhere in our yard and doesn't bloom a pretty flower like the hybrid plants. But the Zebras certainly appreciate them!
