Life in a Northern Town

The Eiger.

Probably!

We left Zermatt this morning to head to Grindelwald. Four trains, all with five minute transfers and we made them all - imagine that happening in the UK!

Grindelwald has a very different feel - for one thing the valley floor is much wider so it feels more open and the huge mountains are more visible as they loom unfeasibly high above the valley sides. We caught a glimpse of what I hope is the Eiger - the weather for the next couple of days looks quite good so we will go up Jungfraujoch - a long-held dream of mine - maybe tomorrow or Monday.

In extras I’ve added another mountain above our hotel - I’m not entirely sure which one!

This evening we tried some local food - John had a veal bratwurst, I had macaroni cheese with apple sauce ( see extras - delicious) but Sarah chickened out and had fish and chips!
