Colour in the Jungle

It is good to be back home, but discouraging to see the state of the garden - so much weeding to do out there!   It's a jungle of green; the evil weed is flourishing and in full bloom with its do-not-be-fooled white "flowers". The only bit of vibrant colour is the new hydrangea I planted just before I went north; it had blooms on it when I bought it, so that doesn't really signify that it is doing well where it is - in that little section of the garden where trees go to die...Fingers crossed that it will survive...

The excitement of the day though was book club up in Port Perry to be followed by attending their local library's Tea and Books session in the afternoon..but alas...when we got there, the room was empty..canceled because of the tornado warnings....

Our area of the province had been under a severe storm and tornado watch but it wasn't to be a real issue until later in the day, but always best to be cautious I guess. The storm did eventually come in the night where I live, but no tornadoes. Whew....
