Rhwng cawodydd
Rhwng cawodydd ~ Between showers
“And I rose / In rainy autumn / And walked abroad in a shower of all my days (...)”
― Dylan Thomas, (Poem in October, 1941)

Digwyddodd popeth heddiw rhwng cawodydd. Es i i'r siopau yn y bore, roedd angen gyda ni ychydig o bethau oherwydd Richard, Steph a theulu yn dod yfory. Ar ôl llawer o law roeddwn i'n lwcus ffeindio sbel sych, digon i wneud y siopa ac yn crwydro o gwmpas y fynwent arferol. Mae'r 'angel gorwedd' yn dal yna, wrth gwrs, ond heddiw welais i geriwb swynol bach hon yn y glaswellt uchel.
Mae'r fynwent yn lle diddorol. Pan ddych chi'n gweld y dyddiau ar y cerrig beddau dych chi'n sylweddoli rhywbeth am fyd y person, y byd y byddan nhw wedi ei adnabod, y byd na fyddan nhw erioed wedi ei adnabod. Rhywun a fu farw yn 1908, byddai wedi adnabod byd gwahanol, un byd heb ryfeloedd byd, un gydag Ymerodraeth Brydeinig. Tybed beth oedd eu meddwl am y dyfodol. Mae'n gwneud i mi feddwl am 'Doctor Who' pan mae llinellau amser gwahanol yn ymddangos ac yn diflannu.
Yn y llinell amser hon daeth ffrind rownd gyda llif gadwyn i dorri boncyffion coed. Gwnaethon ni'r rhan fwyaf o'r gwaith cyn dechreuodd hi fwrw glaw eto. Gall y darnau nawr sychu yn barod ar gyfer gaeaf 2025. Ond pwy sy'n gwybod beth fydd yn digwydd rhwng nawr ac yno?

Everything happened today between showers. I went to the shops in the morning, we needed a few things because Richard, Steph and family are coming tomorrow. After a lot of rain I was lucky to find a dry spell, enough to do the shopping and wander around the usual cemetery. The 'reclining angel' is still there, of course, but today I saw this charming little cherub in the tall grass.
The cemetery is an interesting place. When you see the days on the gravestones you realise something about the person's world, the world they will have known, the world they will never have known. Someone who died in 1908, would have known a different world, one without world wars, one with a British Empire. I wonder what they thought about the future. It makes me think of 'Doctor Who' when different timelines appear and disappear.
In this timeline a friend came round with a chainsaw to cut tree trunks. We did most of the work before it started raining again. The pieces can now dry ready for the winter of 2025. But who knows what will happen between now and then?
