Peony

I think it is an heirloom variety called Festiva Maxima, which I read has been cultivated for over 160 years.  I got this one from a friend's garden 30 years ago and it blossoms beautifully every year. It now has an infestation of rose chafers. So photographing them keeps them alive a little longer.
