A view from St Swithin

On the Gemmipass

The weather didn’t look great today, but as it was our last day we took the cable car up to Sunnbuel (1900m) then walked south up the Gemmipass to the still frozen Daubensee at 2300m. It actually was a better weather day than we expected and we got great views back towards Kandersteg (main photo) and a very atmospheric lunch at our high point (extra). There was too much snow to continue and the Gemmipass (a historical route between two Swiss cantons) still closed at its high point. There was not many folk around - the main summer influx of visitors starts in July.
