Today's the day ....................... for Vintage Jazz

We spent a lovely couple of hours this morning - drinking coffee, eating cake and listening to an open rehearsal of the local band, Vintage Jazz.  That's my good friend Sue above, who is the vocalist and song-introducer for the eight-piece ensemble.

It's actually the annual Kirkcudbright Jazz Festival this weekend in the town - with the usual Jazz Festival Parade tomorrow and multiple gigs to choose from.  Will has a season ticket for the whole weekend so I won't be seeing that much of him over the coming days.

He'll have his sketchpad with him and he'll be watercolour-painting to his heart's delight.  It's what he loves to do - and I'm sure there will be a few blips to see in due course ........................!
