The first defences were constructed during the reign of Christian IV of Denmark and Norway and were ready in 1644 Oscarsborg

Oscarsborg has held and important Defence position for many years, All ships sailing into to Oslo have to pass Oscarsborg and many of the old guns are still in place. There is a good Guest harbour.
