Greater Mancunians

Am happy to report that today there were more than enough photos taken to choose from should any emergency blips be required during next weeks nightshifts. There will be no shortage of contenders to fill any gaps.

This afternoon youngest accompanied me into Manchester for my appointment to give blood. I take this task very seriously, even more so after being unable to a few years ago for reasons that thankfully amounted to nothing but having to include a little more iron in my diet.

So serious in fact that upon arriving at 2:45pm on the dot, the receptionist casually mentioned that the appointment time was 11:00am and there were no further slots available...aaarrghh!!!!! And thus another appointment has been made for tomorrow afternoon at another local centre so normal service may be resumed.

Afterwards via a large coca cola each in a 'proper old  Manchester pub' (in this case the City Arms, not The Grapes from Early Doors!) we visited an exhibition at the city library - Greater Mancunians - which consisted of some fantastic photographs of some great Mancunians, some we knew & some we didn't but interesting all the same. Bottom half of the collage being your Gal with bassist Peter Hook (Hooky to his fans & friends) and youngest mimicking the pose of comedian Paddy Mcguinness.

Following that we walked around some of the old city where she took some more snaps and where upon spotting some pretty jolly graffiti she happily got into the spirit of the exhibition for her own portrait *^_^*

Oh, and it bucketed down with rain too but we are used to it around here and had come prepared with umbrellas :-)
