Birthday Boy

Spent the day in London with my younger son and gf for his 29th birthday.

We had a funny experience- he wanted walking boots so we went to an outdoor equipment shop in Kensington. The assistant was excellent and gave him lots of advice including wearing insoles to correct a slight pronation. He felt they made a difference to his gait so we decided to buy just the insoles , not the boots he liked as he wanted to “shop around”.

When we went to the till the cost was £185, so I pointed out that we weren’t buying the boots only the insoles.. we were told the insoles were £185! For a piece of foam???? Not even customised. As you can imagine we left them.

We had a Science Afternoon Tea at the Ampersand which was delightful! Very playful- eg dry ice, make your own lemonade in glass beakers and astronomy themed food. All gf for him and a Happy Birthday plate at the end when we were full also. Would recommend.
