The goalie is back in town
Ottawacker Jr. was out of school today for the regional sports day out in Orleans: Mrs. Ottawacker made the trip out to see his efforts in long jump and ball throw, while I completed the work I had to do here. Mind you, a lot of my work was delayed by having a quiet reminisce about Françoise Hardy, who died today aged 80. Some exceptional music at the end of the 60s.
Called my stepmother to wish her a happy birthday, did some sorting, and got the message that Jamie wasn’t coming over for a visit this weekend as he had managed to contract Covid and hadn’t managed to recover in time for his flights.
The evening marked his first goalkeeper practice of the season and, it is fair to say, he was absolutely stoked about it. It went very well, actually, despite the big gash on his knee, and he seems to have had no adverse reaction to his elbow.
Sat and watched another Foyle’s War with Mrs Ottawacker before bedtime. Michael Kitchen really does put on a master class in this series. Exceptional actor – and the series holds up as well today as it did in 2003.
