A lovely warm and sunny day…
and so enjoyable. Down here on the sand hills of the strath the Wheatears were all busy feeding young. There are many more this year, which is good to see. The Sand Martins were active too in and around their bank burrows. Large Red Damselflies and a Four spotted chaser were hunting along the burn. Patches of Birds foot trefoil, Field Speedwell and Milkworts added colour to the mossy tussocks and heather clumps in the bright sand. A Cuckoo was calling too. Put the Peesie (Lapwing);in extra because it shows how well they camouflage themselves, despite their beautiful iridescence.
