Across the Straits

Thank you for your kind comments and yesterday - and I’m so pleased you liked the photograph.

Today is quieter, centred around a visit to G’s mum. She’s 95 next week and we’re noticing a definite decline in both her physical and mental abilities. There’s plenty of help on offer within the complex, but it’s so hard to get her to realise that she needs it. At least we know she’s safe and not living on her own.

From Bangor, we make a quick visit over to Anglesey and Plas Newydd - more for a National Trust scone treat than to look round the house if we’re honest. It’s definitely worth seeing Whistler’s magnificent mural (https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/wales/plas-newydd-house-and-garden/rex-whistlers-mural-at-plas-newydd#rt-the-whistler-dining-room-at-plas-newydd), and the setting of the house is absolutely stunning, but neither of us love the house itself.

The weather has been clearing from the west, and by now Plas Newydd is bathed in sunlight. Looking across the grounds towards the straits, it could almost be the summer we should now be enjoying,  but while people sit enjoying the scene, they are wrapped in coats suggesting a different season all together.

So today’s blip is the view from Plas Newydd towards Eryri where clouds still gather over the mountains - beautiful, but not quite the perfect June day!

Thanks to Jensphotos for hosting!
