AKA Ben

It was the opening night of Les Misérables up at the theatre in the College. Ben has been a member of Ad Lib Arts for a few years now and this is the biggest part he has had.

The small theatre was full and wow, what a performance. The kids gave it their all, and us the audience were just so impressed at all their hard work and professionalism that went in to perform g at this level.

When Ben sung the solo Empty Chairs at Empty Tables with the dead people standing behind the see through curtain I (and a few others) was in tears. I’d never heard Ben sing a full song for so long, the last time was Man in the Mirror when I videoed him and Cameron singing it in my kitchen after Cameron sung it at his first Prizegiving in 2018 on stage with his singing group.

It was emotional at the end too as they got a standing ovation and we were all cheering so much for these talented kids. No photos allowed from the show and this time I obeyed lol!

I gave him a big hug when we met him and a few other people congratulated him in his performance.

I was so proud of him. All these lines and songs to learn and he was also doing Annie up to last week with the junior club.
