Farewelling Sheila
Today was Sheila's memorial mass. It was a quiet but lovely send off and I think she would have approved. Today I found out was also the feast day of St Anthony of Padua. Yes, that is the St Anthony you pray to when you have lost something. Not that I prayed to him but I had left my phone charger in Sydney and my brother brought it up for me. Both my brothers and my mum came to the service. We went for a bite to eat afterwards.
The church is next door to the Aged Care facility which I visit on alternate Mondays and where Sheila spent her last days. So a number of the residents came along. The priest asked if anyone would like to say something about their memories of Sheila and S, bless her, piped up that she had seen Sheila yesterday and she had to wear a mask. Well there you are, a miracle!
The main is some of the stained glass in the church which is really beautiful. The priest told me who had done it but I am afraid it went in one ear and out the other. I will need to look it up. The extra is Sheila's ashes at the front of the altar.
Drumming tomorrow. Just saying....
