Lilac
This lilac would really be spectacular if it was standing upright. The client purchased it as a standard, meaning it is a shrub that is grafted into a tree form. A few years ago I put a couple of metal stakes in the ground with some ties around it, hoping it would stay upright. Another wind storm pushed it over. Last year she had another company come in to do some work, and one thing they were supposed to do was to stake this lilac better. They left my stakes there, and put a different tie on it. In one of the wind storms last winter it started leaning worse than it had been and it bent one of the stakes. It is still growing and is blooming beautifully but it looks like a shrub right now, the top part is that close to the ground. I am thinking about getting a fence post put into the ground and putting a strap around that to see if it will hold it upright. The other option is to take it out completely.
Another busy day, and it was a long day too, it was after 4 by the time I got home.
The owner's handyman showed up this morning around 7:45 to measure the door so he could install a new screen door. I now have a screen door on the front door. The property manager had given the handyman a key to get in to work on some of the repairs, but he gave him an old key. The property manager called me tonight to see if he could get another key from me to have one cut. His excuse for giving him the wrong key - he just moved and the right key is packed in one of over a hundred boxes.
One more day of work, then it is off to PEI. Work, go pick up rental car, come home, have supper, go to photo society meeting. I do need a vacation.
