Returns

Today, after a dull but dry walk with Django, I spent the rest of the morning reading the biographical information about Roger that I'd received from the Royal Society. In one particular document - written by him when he was elected - I learned so much about his family and studies before he achieved the first of the research advances that made him famous. I also reached out to two other people who probably knew him and his work better than me.

In the afternoon, I picked up the programming task that I'd been working on before going to Lancaster, until A returned from work, daughter K returned from having slept at a friend's last night in Edinburgh, and daughter L returned from a couple of weeks living in London. We ate and chatted around the table until I went upstairs to catch the best of the final night of the European Athletics Championship.
